Dr. Jeanne Ng is currently the Director of the CLP Research Institute. She joined CLP over 15 years ago and was involved in starting up Group Environmental Affairs, Group Sustainability and most recently the CLP Research Institute. In addition to leading the development of the relevant database and governance processes for CLP’s Sustainability Report, she assisted the C-suite in setting up CLP Group’s first: renewable energy targets, Climate Vision 2050 carbon reduction targets and CLP’s Sustainable Development 2030 targets. The CLP Research Institute focuses on informing the C-suite and senior management, as well as colleagues across the Group, on emerging trends and technologies to enhance CLP’s capabilities in decision-making in business strategy, planning and operations given the fast-changing utility and business landscape. Prior to joining CLP, she had extensive experience in Hong Kong’s environmental industry and has held senior roles in international environmental / engineering consulting companies. She was involved in most of the early Hong Kong governmental air pollution and climate strategy and policy studies and is regarded as one of Hong Kong's experts in air and greenhouse gas emissions inventories.
She is currently a Board member of the International Electric Research Exchange (IERE) and the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP) and a member of the Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) Expert Panel. She was previously a Board member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
